Moped Raises Alarm

Heidi Brown chained her new scooter to the fence outside the vehicle registration building in Ipswich, England, to make sure it was still there when she came out with her new plates. It was — but in about a thousand pieces. Nearby businesses had reported the moped as suspicious because it didn’t have plates. Unable to identify the moped’s owner, the police called in the army, who blew it up. No one, apparently, thought to check inside the vehicle registration office.
