Each day for the past several weeks I have received at least 1 call from (800)464-5153. When I call this number, I receive a message stating that it’s the fund raising efforts of the American Association of State Troopers Incorporated. The most recent call I received was at 10:01 AM this (Sunday) morning. The only e-mail addresses I could find were

I continue to receive phone calls weekly from 1-800-464-5153 also and when I called the number back I get the same information you stated about being State Troopers Fund Raising Foundation. I think it is a rip off because I talked to a state trooper and he said there is no such foundation organization that he is aware of, they do fund drives to raise money for the troopers but not through this organizations. I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau and see what they have to say about this organization.

Severally times I have answered when the number shows on my caller ID. Once they said they were collecting for a campaign against Drunk Driving. Several people I spoke with about it said there is no such official organization, that the State Troopers would not be doing this and it is a scam. The most recent call I answered two weeks ago was supposedly to fund needed community programs. I told the caller that I wanted my number removed from their list. He tried to argue with me but finally said, “Well we are required to if you request, so he would take care of it”. Even so, this number still calls, the latest on Oct. 11, 2006. After this I set up call block with the local phone company. When I tried to block this number the recording said, the service is not available for this #. If you find out how to get rid of them, email the info to me. Thanks.

I did received couple of calls, and now the number is blocked
I’m in Canada and just received one. Just a warning to anyone reading this. DO NOT CALL BACK #’S THAT YOU DON’T KNOW. There’s another scam where people call and hang up after the first ring. They keep doing this hoping you’ll think it’s an emergency. Once you call the # back, you get a big long distance charge. I love voice mail. If it’s a solicitor, they don’t leave a msg and if it’s important, you don’t miss it. It’s like a scam filter. lol
