Racial slur prompts reprimand of Madison, VA County Administrator

Madison County, VA supervisors have reprimanded county Administrator Steve Utz after receiving a report that he made a racial slur about a black county supervisor.

Read (Charlottesville Daily Progress)

The County Administrator proposed a $22,000 (32%) raise for himself in the county budget, and he apparently became upset after the county decided to only give him a $6,000 (8%) raise. The other county employees only received an average increase of 3.8%.

Did he actually think that the county would give him a 32% raise? Hey, Mr. Utz, my employer only gave me a 1.8% increase. I don’t feel sorry for you, and I’d say most of the people in Madison county don’t feel sorry for you either. The Madison County supervisors need to do the right thing and terminate Mr. Utz’s employment.
