Embattled Madison County administrator Steve Utz has left his post, weeks after a reported racial comment he made about a black supervisor came to light.

It’s about time – he made the comment in April! The article said he’ll be paid for his vacation time – a year’s worth. How do you accumulate a year’s worth of vacation? The company I work for will only let us carry 4 weeks from year to year, and it sounds like Madison county needs to implement a similar policy for its employees.
