Delphi Corp.’s plan to reorganize under bankruptcy protection is the
latest and biggest jolt to the ailing auto parts industry already
reeling from production cuts, growing research and engineering burdens,
falling parts prices and high raw material costs. The bankruptcy could push some struggling lower-tier suppliers that rely on Delphi for a large percentage of their business over the edge.
