I’ve often wondered what the different color marks on the street indicate, and I’ve found out what some of them mean. [Joe Kennedy](http://www.roanoke.com/columnists/kennedy/wb/wb/xp-35342 “Read Joe’s Column”) at the [Roanoke Times](http://www.roanoke.com “Roanoke Times website”) found the following:

Color | Meaning

Blue | Water
Green | Storm Drain
Orange | Communications
Red | Electrical
Yellow | Gas Lines

We also have white markings on the street here. What do the white marks mean?
