I saw 2 does standing in the street at the corner of [Palmer and Vine](http://maps.google.com/maps?q=palmer+and+vine+Salem,+va&spn=0.013073,0.041096&iwloc=A&hl=en “Google Map”) while walking the dog at 22:00 tonight. When they saw us, the deer slowly walked into the yard at the northwest corner of the intersection. Buddy, the dog, saw the deer, but he also saw a cat a second or two later. He definitely preferred the cat. As we turned from Vine onto Palmer, the deer stood in the yard and watched us walk by.

I saw another deer near there Wednesday at 12:30 in the afternoon. I was bringing W. home from preschool, and we had to stop and wait while a young buck [crossed Kimball](http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Kimball+Ave+%26+S+Colorado+St,+Salem,+VA+24153&spn=0.013074,0.041096&iwloc=A&hl=en “Google Map”) into Bethel Baptist’s overflow parking lot.
