Food Lion plans to launch two concept stores in Northern Virginia. The first brand is Bloom, and it’s designed for shoppers who want to run into the store and grab an entire meal that they just need to heat and eat. The other brand is Bottom Dollar, and it’s aimed at shoppers who don’t mind digging through bargain bins and bagging their own groceries.

If they ever decide to redo the stores in Salem, I can guess what they’d do – one would remain a Food Lion, and the other would become a Bottom Dollar.
